Server Rules
Please read and follow all server rules to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
General Rules
All members of the Kentucky RP community must treat each other with respect and courtesy at all times. This includes being considerate in your language, actions, and interactions both in-game and on all community platforms.
Examples of respectful behavior:
- Using appropriate language and tone
- Being patient with new players
- Offering constructive feedback rather than criticism
- Respecting different playstyles and approaches
Disrespectful behavior includes but is not limited to: insulting other players, belittling their roleplay, making derogatory comments, or engaging in toxic behavior. Staff members reserve the right to determine what constitutes disrespectful behavior.
First offense: Warning
Second offense: 24-hour ban
Third offense: 7-day ban
Kentucky RP maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward harassment of any kind. Harassment includes repeated unwanted contact, stalking, threatening behavior, doxxing, or any form of discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, nationality, or disability.
What constitutes harassment:
- Repeatedly targeting the same player with negative actions
- Following players across multiple platforms to harass them
- Sharing personal information without consent
- Making threats of real-world harm
- Sexual harassment or unwanted advances
- Discriminatory language or hate speech
Any form of harassment will result in immediate and permanent removal from the community. If you feel you are being harassed, please report it to staff immediately with evidence.
All offenses: Permanent ban
All communication on Kentucky RP servers, Discord, and forums must be in English. This policy ensures that staff can moderate effectively and that all players can communicate with each other.
Where this applies:
- In-game voice and text chat
- Discord voice and text channels
- Forum posts and comments
- Support tickets and applications
Exceptions:
- Private messages between consenting parties
- Teaching non-English speakers (briefly, in context)
- Foreign language phrases for immersion (minimal use)
Minor violations will result in a verbal warning. Continued violations may result in mutes or temporary bans.
Players are prohibited from advertising external communities, servers, Discord servers, or commercial products without prior permission from Kentucky RP administration.
Prohibited advertising includes:
- Posting links to other roleplay servers
- Recruiting for other communities
- Selling products or services for real money
- Sharing referral links or affiliate codes
- Promoting social media for commercial purposes
Allowed sharing:
- Personal creative content (YouTube videos, art, etc.)
- Community-approved partner servers
- Non-commercial Project Zomboid resources
- Staff-approved events or initiatives
First offense: Warning and content removal
Second offense: 7-day ban
Third offense: Permanent ban
All players must comply with reasonable requests and directives from Kentucky RP staff members. Staff members are identified by their roles in Discord and in-game tags.
Staff authority includes:
- Stopping active roleplay situations for administrative reasons
- Requesting players join support channels
- Temporarily removing players from situations under investigation
- Issuing warnings, kicks, or bans as appropriate
- Interpreting and enforcing server rules
Players have the right to:
- Ask for clarification on staff decisions
- Request a different staff member handle their case
- Appeal punishments through proper channels
Refusing to follow staff directions, arguing excessively, or being disrespectful to staff will result in escalated punishments. If you believe a staff member acted inappropriately, submit a formal report through proper channels rather than arguing in the moment.
Depending on severity: Warning to permanent ban
All content shared within the Kentucky RP community must be appropriate for our diverse player base. While we support mature roleplay themes, certain content is strictly prohibited.
Prohibited content:
- Pornographic or explicitly sexual material
- Extreme gore or violent imagery (beyond game content)
- Illegal content or links to illegal activities
- Content promoting self-harm or suicide
- Malicious software or phishing links
- Pirated content or license keys
This applies to:
- Forum posts and signatures
- Discord messages and media
- In-game character names and descriptions
- Custom content or mods
- Profile pictures and banners
Mature roleplay themes (violence, crime, etc.) must be kept within the context of the game and must not cross into prohibited territory. When in doubt, ask staff before sharing.
First offense: Content removal and warning
Severe cases: Immediate permanent ban
Each player is allowed ONE account on Kentucky RP. Creating multiple accounts is prohibited except with explicit administrative approval for specific circumstances (such as content creation or testing).
Reasons this rule exists:
- Prevents ban evasion
- Prevents vote manipulation
- Maintains fair application processes
- Prevents inventory/wealth duplication exploits
- Ensures accurate player counts and statistics
If you need to create a new account (lost access to original, name change, etc.), contact staff BEFORE creating the new account. Unauthorized multiple accounts will result in all accounts being permanently banned.
Players caught with multiple accounts should contact staff immediately to resolve the situation. In some cases, one account may be permitted to remain active.
All unauthorized accounts: Permanent ban
Players are prohibited from attempting to circumvent, exploit loopholes in, or find ways around server rules. The spirit of the rules should be followed, not just the letter.
Examples of rule evasion:
- Using third-party programs to avoid AFK detection
- Exploiting game mechanics to avoid robbery rules
- Using alts to bypass bans or restrictions
- Technically following a rule while violating its intent
- Arguing semantics to avoid punishment
- Coordinating rule-breaking through external platforms
Staff decisions are final when it comes to rule interpretation. If you believe a rule is unclear or unfair, submit feedback through proper channels rather than trying to find loopholes. Players who actively seek ways to circumvent rules demonstrate they are not a good fit for our community.
Depending on severity: 7-day ban to permanent ban
Community Rules
Kentucky RP Discord is organized into channels for specific purposes. Please use the appropriate channel for your message to keep the community organized and accessible.
Channel guidelines:
- announcements: Read-only, staff posts only
- general: General community discussion
- support: Technical help and account issues
- applications: Application-related questions
- roleplay: IC discussions and character development
- Voice channels: Be in the appropriate channel for your activity
If you are unsure where to post something, check the channel description or ask in #general. Repeatedly posting off-topic messages after being reminded will result in warnings or mutes.
First offense: Friendly reminder
Repeated offenses: Temporary mute (1-24 hours)
Spam includes any repetitive, disruptive, or attention-seeking behavior that clutters channels and makes communication difficult for others.
Types of spam:
- Sending multiple messages in quick succession instead of one message
- Excessive emoji reactions or stickers
- Copy-paste messages or walls of text
- Repeatedly mentioning users or roles
- Channel hopping (posting same message across channels)
- Posting unrelated media or links repeatedly
This also includes attention-seeking behavior like:
- Posting just to revive dead chat
- Repeatedly asking for help after receiving answers
- Excessive use of @everyone/@here mentions (staff only)
Use common sense about message frequency. If your message could wait or be combined with another, do so.
First offense: Mute (30 minutes)
Repeated offenses: Extended mutes (1-24 hours)
Severe spam: Kick or ban
When using voice channels, please be respectful of others and maintain a pleasant environment for everyone.
Voice channel guidelines:
- Use push-to-talk or voice activation with proper threshold
- Keep background noise to minimum
- Do not stream inappropriate content
- Respect when people are in active roleplay
- Use server mute/deafen when appropriate
- Move to appropriate channels when requested
Music/Media sharing:
- Use music bots only in designated channels
- Keep volume at reasonable levels
- Stop if majority requests it
Players who are consistently disruptive in voice channels will be removed and may face mutes or bans.
First offense: Verbal warning/move to different channel
Repeated offenses: Voice mute (1-24 hours)
Severe disruption: Server ban
The use of soundboards, voice changers, or audio modification software that disrupts voice communications is prohibited in Kentucky RP Discord voice channels.
Why this rule exists:
- Soundboards can be startling and disruptive
- They make communication difficult
- They can be used for harassment
- They reduce immersion for serious discussions
Exceptions:
- Minor voice effects that do not disrupt (e.g., light modulation for character voices)
- Pre-approved use for special events
- Brief, non-disruptive sound effects when appropriate
If you want to use audio effects for legitimate roleplay purposes, ask staff first. Generally, natural voices are preferred.
First offense: Warning
Second offense: Voice mute (24 hours)
Continued use: Server ban
All members must follow Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines in addition to Kentucky RP rules. Violating Discord TOS while in our server will result in removal from the community.
Key Discord TOS points:
- Must be 13+ years old (we recommend 18+)
- No illegal content or activity
- No self-harm or suicide content
- No harassment or threats
- No impersonation
- No spam or malicious software
If Discord takes action against your account (ban, flag, etc.), it may affect your Kentucky RP membership. Keep your Discord account in good standing.
View full Discord TOS: https://discord.com/terms
Discord Community Guidelines: https://discord.com/guidelines
Violations will be handled based on severity, up to permanent ban from Kentucky RP.
Your Discord display name in Kentucky RP server must be appropriate and easily readable by staff and other members.
Display name requirements:
- Must be readable (no excessive special characters)
- Must be appropriate (no offensive names)
- Should not impersonate staff or other members
- Avoid excessive length
- No invisible or empty characters
Staff may change your display name if it violates these guidelines. If your name is changed, do not change it back without correcting the issue.
Recommended format:
- Your preferred name/nickname
- Character name if you prefer
- No need for tags or special formatting
First offense: Forced nickname change
Refusal to comply: Kick or temporary ban
Roleplay Rules
When your character dies in Project Zomboid, you must forget all events leading to your death and cannot return to the area for 30 minutes. This ensures fair roleplay and prevents revenge actions.
NLR Guidelines:
- You forget the 15 minutes before your death
- You cannot return to death location for 30 minutes (measured from respawn)
- You cannot act on information learned before death
- You cannot seek revenge on your killers
- Your character's relationships and general knowledge remain
Exceptions:
- You may remember who killed you for future RP (not revenge)
- Long-term character knowledge is retained
- You remember your faction membership and allegiances
Area restriction:
The "area" is defined as 300 meters from death location. This ensures you do not encounter the same situation immediately.
Measuring time:
The 30-minute timer starts when you respawn, not when you died.
Breaking NLR:
- Immediate return: 7-day ban
- Acting on death information: 3-day ban
- Multiple violations: Permanent ban
Random Death Match (RDM) is killing another player without proper roleplay reason or initiation. All player kills must have valid in-character reasoning and appropriate roleplay escalation.
What constitutes RDM:
- Killing on sight without interaction
- Killing for OOC reasons
- Insufficient roleplay before violence
- Killing without valid IC reasoning
- Revenge killing after NLR
Valid reasons for killing:
- Self-defense after proper threat
- Robbery gone wrong with proper escalation
- Gang warfare with established conflict
- Witness elimination in ongoing crime
- Execution after appropriate RP
Escalation requirements:
- Initiate verbal roleplay first
- Give opportunity to comply
- Provide clear threats if needed
- Allow reasonable response time
- Violence should be last resort
Even with valid reasons, kills should serve the story, not just stats. Consider if death serves the roleplay or if there are better alternatives (kidnapping, robbery, intimidation).
First offense: 3-day ban
Second offense: 7-day ban
Third offense: Permanent ban
Vehicle Death Match (VDM) is using vehicles as weapons to harm or kill other players without proper roleplay context. Vehicles should be used for transportation and realistic scenarios, not as weapons of convenience.
What constitutes VDM:
- Ramming players on purpose
- Using vehicle as weapon without RP
- "Accidental" hits that are clearly intentional
- Ramming to disrupt roleplay
- Running over injured players
When vehicle hits ARE allowed:
- Genuine accidents with appropriate reaction RP
- Chase scenarios where suspect runs into path
- Terrorist/attack RP with staff approval
- Defensive action when life threatened
If you hit someone accidentally:
- Stop immediately
- Check on the person
- Call for medical help
- Roleplay the accident appropriately
- Do not flee unless IC reason exists
Using vehicles as weapons should be extremely rare and only in very specific RP scenarios approved by staff. The game physics make vehicle combat unrealistic and it breaks immersion.
First offense: 7-day ban
Second offense: 30-day ban
Third offense: Permanent ban
Metagaming is using out-of-character information to gain in-character advantages. Your character should only know what they have learned through in-character experiences.
Common metagaming examples:
- Using Discord/voice chat info in-game
- Stream sniping or watching others' streams
- Reading forums for IC information
- Using player tags to identify characters
- Coordinating through OOC channels
- Using knowledge from previous characters
- Meta-baiting (sharing IC info OOC hoping others use it)
What your character knows:
- Only what they've experienced personally
- What others told them IC
- Public information from IC sources
- Skills/knowledge appropriate to background
Separating IC and OOC:
- If you learn something OOC, forget it IC
- Develop IC ways to learn information
- Play your character realistically
- Don't create situations based on OOC knowledge
It's acceptable to use OOC knowledge to CREATE roleplay opportunities (going where RP is), but not to GAIN ADVANTAGES in existing roleplay (knowing who the criminal is).
First offense: Warning and RP void
Second offense: 3-day ban
Severe/repeated: 7-day to permanent ban
Powergaming is forcing actions onto another player without giving them a chance to respond, or roleplaying unrealistic abilities that give unfair advantages.
Types of powergaming:
- Forcing actions: "/me grabs you and throws you in car" without response time
- God-modding: Making your character unrealistically strong/skilled
- Meta-powergaming: Using OOC information to predict actions
- Refusing consequences: Ignoring injuries, trauma, or losses
- Unrealistic skills: Expert in everything
Proper roleplay:
- Use attempting language: "/me attempts to grab your arm"
- Allow response time: Give other players chance to respond
- Accept failure: Sometimes your character fails
- Realistic limitations: Your character can't do everything
- Appropriate consequences: Injuries affect your character
Combat powergaming:
- Give clear initiation before attacking
- Allow others to surrender/flee/respond
- Don't instant-kill without RP
- Accept when you lose a fight
Social powergaming:
- Can't force emotions on others ("You are afraid")
- Can't control others' characters
- Must allow others to react
First offense: Warning and RP void
Second offense: 3-day ban
Continued issues: 7-day to permanent ban
Fail RP is roleplaying in ways that break immersion, are unrealistic, or do not fit the serious roleplay environment of Kentucky RP. All players should maintain realistic character actions and responses.
Examples of Fail RP:
- Unrealistic reactions (laughing when being robbed)
- Breaking character (talking about game mechanics IC)
- Ignoring injuries or pain
- Trolling or memeing during serious RP
- Not valuing your life appropriately
- Unrealistic vehicle stunts "for fun"
- Using game exploits/bugs in RP
- Refusing to RP with certain players without reason
Maintaining immersion:
- Stay in character at all times
- React realistically to situations
- Acknowledge your injuries and limitations
- Take roleplay seriously
- Respect others' immersion
- Use /ooc sparingly and only when necessary
Quality roleplay expectations:
- Develop your character with depth
- Create interesting storylines
- Engage meaningfully with others
- Accept consequences of actions
- Contribute to others' stories
This doesn't mean you can never have fun, but keep it realistic. Your character can have a personality and humor, but should still react appropriately to serious situations.
First offense: Warning
Repeated offense: 3-day ban
Severe trolling: 7-day to permanent ban
All character names must be realistic and appropriate for a serious roleplay environment set in Kentucky. Names should fit a real person you might meet in America.
Character name requirements:
- First and last name required
- Must sound like real names
- Appropriate to setting (no fantasy names)
- No celebrity or famous person names
- No meme or joke names
- No offensive names
- No numbers in names
- Proper capitalization
Examples of GOOD names:
- John Smith
- Maria Rodriguez
- James O'Connor
- Sarah Chen
- Michael Davis
Examples of BAD names:
- xXShadowKillerXx
- DonaldTrump
- Mike Oxlong
- Xx_Player_xX
- Legolas Greenleaf
- Batman Wayne
Nicknames:
- Can be used IN CHARACTER after establishing real name
- Must be earned/explained through RP
- Cannot be your primary identifier
If your character name is found to be inappropriate, staff will ask you to change it. Refusing to change an inappropriate name or repeatedly using bad names will result in warnings or bans.
First offense: Required name change
Refusal to comply: 24-hour ban
Repeated violations: 7-day ban
Fear RP requires you to value your character's life and act realistically when threatened. If someone has a clear advantage over you, especially with a weapon, you should comply with their demands or face consequences.
When you must Fear RP:
- Someone has a gun pointed at you
- You are outnumbered significantly
- You are injured or incapacitated
- Someone has advantage (knife to throat, etc.)
- Your life is clearly in danger
Appropriate Fear RP:
- Comply with reasonable demands
- Show fear and concern
- Don't pull weapons when held at gunpoint
- Don't run if you'd clearly be shot
- Don't act tough when overpowered
When you CAN resist:
- You have cover/escape route
- You have backup arriving
- Attacker is distracted
- You have weapon already drawn
- Character background justifies it (with good RP)
Your character wants to live. Even brave characters should show some self-preservation. This doesn't mean you can never fight back, but your actions should make sense.
Character personality:
- Brave character: Might resist verbally but still complies
- Reckless character: Might take risks, but not suicidal
- Trained character: Knows when they're outmatched
- Fearful character: Complies immediately
Not fearing for your life when appropriate breaks immersion and creates unrealistic scenarios. Remember: your character can't respawn in their mind.
First offense: Warning
Second offense: 3-day ban
Severe/repeated: 7-day to permanent ban
Combat logging is disconnecting from the server during active roleplay, especially during combat or criminal situations, to avoid consequences. This is strictly prohibited.
What counts as combat logging:
- Logging during active firefight
- Disconnecting when being robbed
- Logging out to avoid arrest
- Disconnecting during chase
- Alt+F4 to avoid death
- Timing out "accidentally" in RP
When you CAN disconnect:
- Emergency situations (explain in OOC when possible)
- Server crashes/technical issues
- After RP concludes naturally
- With permission from all involved parties
- Medical or family emergency
If you must disconnect:
- Explain in /ooc if possible
- Contact involved parties after
- Report to staff with explanation
- Return to complete RP when possible
- Accept any consequences that occurred while gone
Technical issues:
If you disconnect due to genuine technical problems during RP, you are expected to:
- Return immediately if possible
- Explain in Discord/OOC
- Accept whatever happened while disconnected
- Don't use "my game crashed" repeatedly as excuse
Combat logging shows disrespect for other players' time and ruins immersion. It's one of the most serious rule violations because it directly prevents others from completing their roleplay.
First offense: 7-day ban
Second offense: 30-day ban
Third offense: Permanent ban
Safe zones are designated areas where criminal activity is prohibited. These zones allow players to conduct business and roleplay without constant threat of robbery or violence.

- Police stations and jail
- Government buildings
- Designated spawn areas (first 10 minutes)
Rules in safe zones:
- No robberies or mugging
- No initiation of violence
- No weapons drawn threateningly
- No kidnapping or taking hostages
- Active RP only (no parking/AFKing long-term)

- Dragging unwilling people into safe zone
Leaving safe zones:
- Criminals can wait OUTSIDE safe zones
- Cannot camp exit immediately
- Must be reasonable distance (50+ meters)
- Cannot follow someone out and immediately rob
Remember: Safe zones protect you, but you can't abuse them either. Don't run into safe zones to escape valid RP. Don't stay in safe zones just to avoid RP.
First offense: Warning and RP void
Second offense: 3-day ban
Repeated violations: 7-day ban
Robberies must be conducted with proper roleplay and within specific limitations to ensure fair and immersive experiences for all players.
Robbery requirements:
- Clear verbal initiation required
- Give victim chance to comply
- Cannot rob same person within 2 hours
- Maximum 3 robberies per person per day
- Must have valid RP reason
- Cannot take everything (leave basics)

- Get what you want and move on
- Killing victim should be last resort
After robbery:
- Allow victim to leave/call for help
- Cannot camp victim or follow
- Victim may report to police (not metagaming)
- Accept that you might get caught
Quality robbery RP:
- Create interesting scenarios
- Talk to your victims
- Make it memorable
- Consider leaving calling card
- Build reputation IC
New player protection:
Players under 48 hours cannot be robbed except in specific criminal RP with admin approval.
First offense: Warning and RP void
Second offense: 3-day ban
Taking everything: 7-day ban
Repeated violations: Permanent ban
Hostage situations are high-stakes roleplay scenarios that require careful handling, communication with staff, and adherence to specific guidelines.
Before taking hostages:
- Have valid RP reason (not just because you can)
- Consider the story you're creating
- Ensure you have escape plan
- Alert staff in support ticket
- Must have 2+ criminals for 1 hostage
Hostage rules:
- Cannot hold hostage longer than 45 minutes
- Must negotiate with police in good faith
- Cannot torture or permanently harm hostage
- Must provide basic needs (food/water in long scenarios)
- Hostage cannot be staff member without permission
Negotiation guidelines:
- Make reasonable demands
- Work toward resolution
- Don't execute hostages without RP reason
- Police should negotiate realistically
- Both sides should create interesting RP
Police response:
- Must attempt negotiation first
- Snipers allowed with proper RP
- Can breach if hostage in immediate danger
- Should have crisis negotiator
- Prioritize hostage safety
As hostage:
- Fear RP applies (cooperate appropriately)
- Can attempt escape if opportunity arises
- Don't metagame or give criminals hard time OOC
- Create interesting RP as scared victim
- Remember this experience for future RP
Ending hostage situations:
- Hostage released: Criminals get escape opportunity
- Police breach: Hostage safety is priority
- Hostage killed: Serious RP and IC consequences
- Can't take new hostages immediately after
Staff oversight:
Major hostage situations may have staff monitoring. Follow staff directions during active situation. Staff may end situation if it's being mishandled.
Violations:
- Not alerting staff: Warning
- Unrealistic demands: Situation void
- Executing hostage without reason: 7-day ban
- Torture/excessive violence: 14-day ban
- Repeated issues: Permanent ban
Server Rules
Kentucky Roleplay is a strictly fair-play environment. Any form of cheating, hacking, exploiting, or abusing unintended mechanics is completely prohibited.
What Is Considered Hacking or Cheating?
The following actions are not allowed, including but not limited to:
- Using third-party software to gain an unfair advantage
(e.g. speed hacks, god mode, ESP, aimbots, memory editors, packet manipulation, etc.) - Modifying, injecting, or tampering with game files, scripts, or memory
- Using macros, scripts, or automation to bypass intended gameplay limits
- Abusing bugs, glitches, or exploits for personal gain
(If it feels unintended, it probably is) - Circumventing server systems, restrictions, or roleplay mechanics
- Sharing, encouraging, or assisting others in using hacks or exploits
Regarding exploits and bug abuse:
- Discovering a bug does not give permission to use it
- Repeatedly or intentionally abusing a bug counts as exploiting
- Bugs should be reported immediately to staff via the proper channels
- Failure to report a known exploit may result in punishment, especially if used for personal gain
Recording & Evidence
- Staff may request recordings, screenshots, or logs during investigations
- Refusing to cooperate with an investigation may be treated as an admission of guilt
- Attempts to hide, delete, or manipulate evidence will result in severe penalties
Enforcement & Punishment
Violations of this rule may result in:
- Warnings
- Character wipes
- Temporary bans
- Permanent bans (no appeal for severe cases)
Punishments may be applied without prior warning, depending on severity.
Final Note
If you’re ever unsure whether something is allowed, assume it is not and ask staff first.
Fair play is essential to immersive, long-term roleplay for everyone.
Players are expected to remain actively present while logged into the server. Being AFK must never be used to gain an advantage, avoid risk, or disrupt gameplay.
The following is not allowed:
- Remaining AFK in unsafe or public areas
- Going AFK during or near combat, danger, pursuits, or active situations
- Using AFK status to avoid injury, death, arrest, or consequences
- AFK farming, training, or skill progression
- Using AFK players as shields, storage, bait, or blockers
- Obstructing doorways, paths, vehicles, or interaction points while AFK
- Repeated or extended AFK periods without proper safety
AFK is permitted only when:
- Your character is in a secure and appropriate location
- No active situation or threat is present
- The AFK duration is reasonable
- AFK does not impact other players or server performance
While you're AFK:
- Characters left AFK remain fully vulnerable
- Staff may move, injure, or remove AFK characters if necessary
- Being AFK does not protect you from in-game consequences
Enforcement:
- Staff may intervene without warning if AFK behavior disrupts gameplay
- Abuse of AFK may result in warnings, penalties, or further action
- Claiming AFK is not a valid defense for rule violations
Final Note:
- If you need to step away, log out safely.
- If you are unsure whether it is safe to go AFK, do not do so.
All Chat is restricted to urgent matters only. It is not a general discussion channel.

Enforcement
- Misuse of All Chat is considered a minor rule violation
- Warnings are generally issued in the form of a kick from the server
- Repeated or intentional misuse may result in further punishment
- Staff may escalate enforcement at their discretion
Final Note
If it is not urgent, do not use All Chat.
When in doubt, use a ticket or the forums instead.
Roleplay scenarios are considered active and binding once they begin. Scenarios may not be voided or ignored at a player’s discretion.
Player restrictions:
- Players may not void, reset, retcon, or ignore a scenario on their own
- Disconnecting, respawning, or claiming misunderstanding does not void a scenario
- Agreement between players does not override this rule
- Continuing play as if a scenario did not occur is prohibited
Staff Authority Only
Only server staff may void a roleplay scenario, and only for specific reasons, including but not limited to:
- Server crashes, severe desync, or critical technical failures
- Rule violations that fundamentally compromise the scenario
- Game breaking bugs or exploits affecting the outcome
- Staff-determined fairness or integrity issues
Limited scope of voids:
- Voids are applied narrowly and only to the affected events
- Progress, injuries, or outcomes unrelated to the issue may still stand
- Voiding a scenario is not guaranteed, even if a problem occurred
Enforcement:
- Attempting to self-void or bypass consequences may result in penalties
- Failure to comply with a staff issued void decision may result in further action
- Staff decisions regarding voids are final
Final note:
If an issue occurs, continue the scenario if possible and report it afterward.
Do not assume a scenario is void unless explicitly stated by staff.
Violations:
- First offense: Warning and RP resumes
- Second offense: Warning and RP resumes or 3-day ban at staff's discretion
- Third offense: 7-day ban
- Repeated violations: Permanent ban
Law Enforcement Rules
Law Enforcement roles exist to support balanced gameplay and server integrity. Corruption is restricted and controlled, not free-form. Joining or using a department for material gain or mechanical advantage is strictly prohibited.
Prohibited Corruption
The following actions are not allowed under any circumstances:
- Joining a law enforcement department for the purpose of stealing, stockpiling, or funneling equipment, weapons, supplies, or vehicles
- Transferring department issued items to personal use, alternate characters, or external groups
- Using law enforcement access to bypass normal gameplay restrictions
- Sabotaging department systems, logistics, or operations for mechanical gain
- Treating corruption as an excuse for griefing or power abuse
Allowed Forms of Corruption
The following forms of corruption are permitted without prior approval, provided they remain reasonable and do not involve mechanical abuse:
- Spying or informant activity (acting as a mole, leaking information, or reporting to external parties)
- Misleading or lying to department officials to conceal personal or third-party criminal activity
(e.g. falsifying statements, misreporting events, or withholding information)
These actions must remain information-based, not equipment or system-based.
Admin Approval Required
Any form of corruption outside the allowed list requires explicit admin approval before being attempted, including but not limited to:
- Theft or redistribution of department equipment
- Deliberate evidence tampering beyond verbal dishonesty
- Coordinated internal sabotage
- Long-term or large-scale corruption arcs
Attempting unapproved corruption will be treated as a rule violation.
Enforcement & Consequences
Violations of this rule may result in moderate consequences, including:
- Removal from the department
- Character penalties or role restrictions
- Confiscation of improperly obtained items
- Temporary suspension or further disciplinary action
Severity depends on intent, impact, and repetition.
Final Note
If you are unsure whether a corrupt action is allowed, assume it is not and seek admin approval first.
Law Enforcement corruption should create story and tension, not material advantage.
Recording systems exist to support accountability and investigations. Their use must be reasonable, tangible, and verifiable.
Recording Expectations
- Law enforcement officers are encouraged to use recording software to simulate dashcam and bodycam footage during patrols and incidents.
- Screenshots or video clips should be captured at key moments
(e.g. traffic stops, arrests, pursuits, use of force). - Recording tools should be easy to use and must not disrupt gameplay.
- For any form of recordings to be admissible, especially in a court of law, the player recording must initiate that they intend to start recording or have already started recording using a /me action which must be clearly visible in the recording as well
(e.g. enter the following into the chatbox: "/me presses the bodycam's activation button" or similar).
Tangible Evidence Requirement
- For footage to be considered valid in-character (IC) evidence, tangible media must be provided (screenshots or video clips).
- Claims of recorded footage without proof will be considered invalid.
- Viewing angles must reasonably reflect what the device could realistically capture, allowing leniency for gameplay limitations.
CCTV Systems
- Buildings with CCTV must have a designated CCTV room or access point clearly established in the building layout or description.
- CCTV footage must be represented by screenshots or video clips reflecting realistic camera placement and angles.
Retrieval & Overwrite
- All recording footage (dashcam, bodycam, or CCTV) must be retrieved in-character within 24 hours of the event.
- After this timeframe, footage is considered overwritten and unrecoverable due to "storage limitations".
Administration & Disputes
- Admins may assist in verifying footage retrieval and authenticity.
- Admins reserve final authority on the validity of footage in disputes or technical cases.
Final Note
If footage is important, secure it promptly.
If no tangible recording exists, it does not exist IC.
